USS Enterprise Model Star Ship
Originally under the Command of Captain Christopher Pike, and made famous by one of the greatest Captains in Starfleet, James T. Kirk, the Original Series Enterprise Ship NCC-1701 is a must-have for any Star Trek fan new or old.
The 18″ highly detailed replica features iconic lights, sounds, and command phrases from Captain Kirk himself and comes with a display stand.
There are 5 pieces of the USS Enterprise inside the box that easily slot together.
The most difficult section ( and this isn’t hard) is attaching the starship to the clear plastic stand. This requires a bit of force to ensure that the square end is fully inside the model leaving just the ball joint in view.
Thankfully, the model also comes with the required three AAA batteries, just make sure you switch the model out of demo mode!
USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Model Star Ship Details
The Model
If you grew up (like me) watching the original Star Trek TV Series you are going to love this USS Enterprise NCC-1701 model. They have captured all the detail and signage we know and love in the impressive 18″ replica.
Not only does it replicate all the viewing stations, weapons, markings and proportions. It comes complete with lights and sounds including original ship sounds and Captain Kirk Phrases.
The Stand
The clear plastic stand has three points of movement…. two hinged and one ball socket(at the top where it enters the model). This allows you to position the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 in pretty much any position. All three joints are nice and stiff which means the position is held firm. Although the size and weight of the USS Enterprise model will create poor balance if it’s tilted too far to the side using the ball and socket joint.
The USS Enterprise is a little wobbly when touched or it’s position is changed on the stand but that doesn’t impact the stability.
Having a clear simple stand means it doesn’t detract from the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and I love that the Star Trek Insignia is used for the base.
Sounds And Lights
The sounds and light are the icings on the cake when it comes to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Model.
The lights come on when one of the three different buttons found on the top of the ship are pressed. This is a slight irritation, as it would have been amazing to have a switch that kept the lights on permanently!
But when the lights do come on the USS Enterprise is just everything!!!
There are three sound buttons all found on the top of the ‘saucer’. These play a mix of weapons sounds, internal starship sounds and some nostalgic Captain Kirk Phrases from the man himself!

He was easy to move and position with movement in the figures head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. I would have liked to have movement in the ankles so that the figure could be positioned in kneeling position.
Commander Riker’s face was a little off but not enough to make him unrecognisable.
What Did we Think Of The USS Enterprise And Commander Riker
The highlight of the range is the stunning USS Enterprise NCC-1701. And at around £49.99 it’s a fantastic, affordable, nostalgic piece for collectors and fans of the iconic TV series! And will appeal to everyone.
The figures are well made although I think many of the accessories are repeated with each character. They’ve tried to appeal to all generations with a mix of characters from three different Star Trek series. Many fans are going to love this. But personally, I’d have liked to get a full set of characters from the original series.
Whatever your preference. The Star Trek Universe products by Bandai are going to be loved by fans of the show.
