What’s In The Box?

Inside the box, you’ll find a detailed plastic moon, remote control, and an instruction leaflet.

Contents Of The My Very Own Moon Box

The moon is beautifully detailed with loads of texture and colour that highlight the moon’s craters, valleys, and mountain ranges. These are all to scale and are a copy of the real moon’s topography.

The remote is well designed and a nice size for both children and adults.

How To Use My Very Own Moon

You need to put 4 AA batteries in the back of the moon plus put 2 AAA batteries in the remote control. Both batteries compartments need a small Phillips style screwdriver to open them.

There are two hook holes on the back labelled NH and SH that are used to hang it on the wall. This is so that depending on where you are in the world, (north or south of the equator) you can hang the moon the correct way up!

Back Of The Moon Showing Hemisphere Hooks

Just above the NH hook, there is a small on/off button.

Initially, the moon needs to be turned on via the button above the NH hook hole for it to work with the remote control. Because it is a night light it will automatically turn itself off after 30 minutes.

Once turned on by the main switch you can use the remote control to turn it on, manually cycle through the 12 lunar phases, or put it on auto cycle through the lunar phases.

The Remote Control

To turn the moon on press the small blue button.

My Very Own Moon In Full Moon Phase

To manually cycle through the 12 lunar phases press the light bulb button. You need to press the button each time you want the lunar phase to change. One of the great things about this option is that you can choose to set the night light to match what the real moon is doing!

My Very Own Moon In Half Moon Status

To get the moon to automatically cycle through all its phases, use the forward rotating arrow button on the remote control.

What Did we think Of The My Very Own Moon?

It really is very impressive! It looks fabulous on the wall whether it is on or off, plus it’s easy to hang on the wall and super simple to use!

Plus it’s a great size for handling and exploring the moons topography.

My Very Own Moon Being Held In Hands

But it’s when the room is dark that it comes into its own, and looks truly beautiful and calming. Watch the video at the top to see the light in action from about 9:30 mins in.

My Very Own Moon Lit Up On A Wall

It’s the kind of toy that will appeal to both adults and children and if you’re wanting an unobtrusive night light that looks really cool when not on then The My Very Own Moon is your answer!
