Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, as the name possibly suggests, is unlike any card game you will have played. It’s for players aged 8+, should take around 10 minutes to play, and is for 2-8 players.

What’s In the Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Card Game
The cute little, magnetically shut, box holds 64 fun, illustrated cards. With the cards breaking down into
- 11 taco cards
- 11 cat cards
- 11 goat cards
- 11 cheese cards
- 11 pizza cards
- 3 groundhog cards (special card)
- 3 gorilla cards (special card)
- 3 narwhal cards (special card)

Although the character illustration stays the same, the background of the character card is varied and can be either purple, yellow, green, blue, or pink
Aim Of The Game
The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards AND THEN be the first player to slap your hand down on top of the next played pile of cards when you see a match or a ‘special card’ appears. It sounds a bit bonkers, but I assure you it all makes total sense once the game gets going!

How To Play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
To start, cards are shuffled well and then dealt out, face-down, evenly to all the players, with any leftover cards being put back in the box. 12 cards max are dealt out for 2,3,4 or 5 player games.
Each player puts their cards into a ‘face-down‘ stack in front of them without looking at any of the cards! This is known as the player’s Draw Pile.
Starting with the person to the left of the dealer, each player takes it, in turn, to draw a card from their draw pile and puts it face up into the center of play creating a Central Pile. The first player says taco as they place their card, the next player says cat as they place their card, the next player says goat, the next player says cheese and the next player say pizza as they place their card. Play continues like this with players repeating the words in this order until either the word spoken matches the card played or a special card (Narwahl, Gorilla, Groundhog) is played.

If the spoken word matches the played cards all players must slap their hand down on top of the central pile. The last player to slap their hand down picks up all the cards and adds them to the bottom of their draw pile. That player then starts the next round.

If a special card is drawn all players must make the correct action associated with that card (the specifics are included in the instruction leaflet) and slap their hands down on top of the central pile. Again, the last player to slap their hand down picks up all the cards and adds them to the bottom of their draw pile. With that player then starting the next round.

Play then continue until a player gets rid of all their cards cards AND THEN is the first player to slap their hand down on top of the next played pile of cards if they see a match or a ‘special card’.
Additional Rules
- Incorrect slap-down – If a player lap downs when there is no match they must pick up all the cards.
- Flinching – if a player flinches/jerks as if going to slap down they must pick up all the cards.
- Pace – play must continue at an even pace. If a player forgets it’s their turn, stumbles or delays, they must pick up all the cards.
- Peeking – If a player peeks they must pick up all the cards. It is important that players draw the card into the direction of the central pile and not inwards to themselves so that they don’t get a sneak peek of the card.
- If a players plays all their cards they must continue to join in verbally on their turn and slap down when a match or special card occurs.
What Did We Think Of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
I cannot tell you how much fun Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is to play!
It’s highly addictive and very competitive. You definitely have to watch out for some hard slapping, which is often not intentional and down to excitement; particularly as the game tension starts to build! And although the rules of play are super simple it is very easy to make a mistake!

Its small size, both in packaging and play, makes it super portable and could be played pretty much anywhere, so definitely one to keep in the travel bag.
And, even though the rules say only 12 cards to be dealt for 2,3,4, or 5 player games we dealt the whole pack out, no matter how many people were playing, and it doesn’t hinder play.
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, is a high energy, addictive, little box of fun that will appeal to everyone and leave you all in stitches. It really should be a ‘must have‘ card game for everyone!
