What’s In The Schleich Pony Agility Training Set?
Aimed at children aged 3-8 it includes
- 2 ponies
- little girl trainer
- paddock fencing,
- small jump obstacles that can be adjusted into slalom poles,
- a ramp/see-saw (turn the ramp upside down to make a seesaw)
- training bridle
Schleich PonIes And Trainer Detail
The two ponies included are very different from each other.
One horse is dark brown, stocky in build, and fury (or are horses called hairy?) with a braided mane (caramel brown in colour) and a thick tail. There’s darker colouring around the hooves, and even a raised piece of plastic to suggest a horseshoe underfoot. It’s leg position suggests it’s slowly plodding, or just about to set off.
The other horse is sleeker with a shorter coat of chestnut hair. It has a white mane and tail that is set to look like the pony is moving with some speed.
The little girl/trainer figure has a black hat that comes off. Her arms move up and down, and her legs pivot at the hips so she can sit down (the legs move together not independently). She can stand independently and her hands are positioned in a semi-grip so that she can hold the rope.
She’s not designed to ride either of the horses.
Paddocks And Equipment
The paddock clips together easily and there are enough pieces to make one big training paddock or two small holding paddocks. There’s a big sturdy gate that opens and shuts to let the ponies in and out. We added some sand to make it feel like a real training paddock.
All the equipment can be interchanged.
The ramp can be turned upside down and uses as a seesaw. All the poles, balloons and flags can be moved from one piece of equipment to another. For example, the poles can be used on the cones and tree stumps to make either jumps or slalom poles, the flags added to the poles, even the hanging down coloured curtains could be put on poles and used as an obstacle or jump. The only limits are your imagination!
What Did We Think Of The Schleich Pony Agility Training Set?
I really like how interchangeable all the parts are which makes this a toy that will be used in lots of different ways. And I particularly like how different the two ponies are. Additionally, it’s refreshing to have a playset that’s focused on the ponies having fun and being trained, rather than being ridden. And as with all Schleich products, the quality and attention to detail are fantastic.
The Schleich Pony Agility Training Set is a nicely balanced playset that will provide endless hours of imaginary play if your child likes to use figures to play with.
