What’s In The Box
The great thing about Jump It Lap Counter is that everything you need comes in the box and it doesn’t require batteries.
Inside the box, you’ll find
- Leg loop with plastic rope
- Lap counter ball
- small screwdriver and screw.
You need to attach the lap counter ball to the length of plastic rope and then you’re ready to get active!

How Does Jump It Lap Counter Work
To Use the Jump It Lap Counter slip your foot through the hoop end and either use your hand to gently throw the ball forward whilst at the same time using your ankle/foot to rotate it. With practice you can swing the Jump it around just using the motion of your foot and lower leg.

As the plastic rope and ball end head towards the other foot you need to jump over it and keep the motion going so you can continually jump! Each time the Jump It does a full revolution around the ankle that a child jumps over, it adds to the score.

Attached to the jump it ball is a lap counter. It can be zero’d every time someone uses it or it can be left to cumulatively keep counting (perfect if you set your child a number of laps to achieve over time!)
It works better on a flat even surface and we found the number of laps it registered wasn’t correct a lot of the time. But the actual Jump It itself worked fine and is very addictive… you’ll be surprised how out of breath you get!

The Stay Active Range
As mentioned Jump It Lap Counter is part of a range of “Stay Active” family-inclusive toys by Character Options that can be played inside and outside.
They’re a great way to keep kids active and help minimise screen time. Physical activities like this are great for building up strength, stamina, balance and co-ordination. But they also help to build up confidence, self-esteem and mental health, as kids can track their improvement!

My own kids loved doing activities like this with us. And they still do! It brings us together in a fun, friendly way, whether we’re doing team or individual challenges. And for me there’s a whiff of old school nostalgia!
Over the coming months we’ll be bringing you more of the Stay Active Range for you to see. Including some legendary ‘Moon Boots‘ next month!
